Splitting Action Process of High-Pressure Grouting

When high-pressure slurry enters rock and soil body, slurry bubble will be formed. It expands outside and exerts complex three-dimensional stress effect on rock and soil body. At weak parts, it overcomes initial stress and compressive strength, produces splitting, then slurry can squeeze, pitching-in, penetrate into soil body and have interaction with rock and soil body.

The interaction includes: hydration reaction of cement forms tobermorite gel; oxide and water in micro-fissures form Ca2+ and micro crystalline gel, insoluble in water; Ion exchange interaction between Ca2+ and Na+ forms soil granular structure and stable clot body. All these interactions finally form network of slurry pulse.

At the same time, slurry’s filling compaction effect expels part of free water and weak bound water; water of hydration reaction is evaporated; Ion exchange decreases moisture, which decreases weak bound water on surface of soil body and then enhances physical property of rock and soil body.

So, high-pressure grouting slurry takes splitting as the principal thing, penetrating, filling and squeezing recombination actions as the auxiliary thing. Through grouting of Rock bolt, induration is formed to change soil body’s reaction mechanism, enhance physical property and restrain deformation of rock and soil body.
